After chatting with a hotel bartender while on business travel, Joshua was immediately interested and inspired by the hospitality industry. Jumping behind the bar at Marriott City Center in Macon, GA, Joshua quickly rose through the ranks and was hired as bartender. Here, Joshua perfected the execution of classic cocktails and the art of accuracy behind the bar. Upon relocating to Atlanta, Joshua joined the Fado Irish Pub team, where he finessed his bartending speed and found his interest in whiskey. After a few years, Joshua switched gears to focus on fine dining as O-Ku’s bartender. At O-Ku, Joshua worked closely with Executive Chef Jackie Chang, fell in love with the Japanese cuisine and fervently immersed himself into the culture. In early 2019, Chef Jackie Chang and Joshua embarked on an adventure, combining their impeccable food and beverage skill sets with their passion for Japanese culture, to open District M. As Bar Manager, Joshua brings his knowledge of Japanese whiskey, beers and sakes to the menu and seeks to introduce the Sandy Springs community to an incomparable culinary experience.
